Maeve Higgins

Comedian, Writer and Podcast Host

Maeve Higgins is a comedian, writer, columnist, actor and podcast host from Cobh, co. Cork. She currently lives in New York City where she hosts comedy shows, is a contributing writer for the New York Times as well as various other media outlets and hosts/co-hosts a number of podcasts.

 
 

In our conversation, Maeve tells us about how she got into comedy and how that has led to a wide and varied career. She talks about what is like living in New York as a creative person and the unique opportunities that provides. Maeve also discusses how she defines success and what makes her most proud.

Q. Maeve moved from Ireland to live and work in New York City. Have you lived in a different country? What are some of the differences in arts and culture in comparison to where you live now?
